Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our team in Youngstown, OH. Your office will be outdoors as you climb trees and perform pruning and removal tasks to maintain tree health and safety for clients.

You will operate with Davey climbing systems, work with a crew, and complete required safety courses on hire, while enjoying employee-owned culture, benefits, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire required.
• First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Pesticide licenses/certificates preferred if state law requires.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey climbing systems (DdRT/MRS, SRT/SRS).
• Work with ground crew and crew leader as part of a team.
• Perform pruning and removal tasks safely and skillfully for clients.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees and protect surrounding areas.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications
