Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a dynamic Climbing Arborist in Youngstown, Ohio. The office is outdoors and you will climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, working with a crew to prune and remove branches as needed for health and safety.

Expect on-site work with opportunities for advancement, comprehensive equipment and safety gear, and a supportive team culture. Training is provided; travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred licenses/certificates related to pesticides, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb and prune or remove trees safely as part of client projects.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader to complete duties.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:
