Job summary

SavATree is seeking a Crew Lead Tree Climber to join our General Tree Care Team. You will lead essential pruning, removals, and cabling tasks, applying safe climbing techniques and industry standards.

You will operate chainsaws and aerial lifts, perform high-quality tree care, and communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure safety and satisfaction. Prior leadership experience is valued for this role.

Qualifications

• Must have valid U.S. driver’s license (CDL a plus).
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Passion for outdoor work and environmental stewardship.
• Experience with pruning large trees and ornamentals.
• Knowledge of tree and shrub species and their traits.
• Comfortable climbing without spurs and following safety standards.
• Experience with chainsaws, aerial lifts, and other essential gear.
• Proficient in pruning cuts, branch collars, and safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree care: pruning, removals, and cabling.
• Climb trees safely using ropes, saddle, and ladders.
• Operate chainsaws, bucket trucks, and other tools effectively.
• Follow ANSI A300 pruning standards and safety guidelines.
• Ensure pruning cuts preserve tree health and structure.
• Assist in takedowns with ropes or spikes as needed.
• Identify hazards and perform safety checks before, during, and after work.
• Perform aerial rescues when required and safe.
• Maintain clear communication with team and clients for safety and service quality.
• Take ownership and contribute to a safety-focused team culture.
