Job summary
Insight Global is seeking a Transportation Engineer to perform traffic engineering, analysis, and safety studies for Michigan roadway projects. You will develop signal designs, MOT strategies, and signing plans while collaborating with design teams and project managers to integrate traffic solutions into MDOT projects.
You will review plans to ensure quality standards, prepare reports and cost estimates, and support field reviews during construction phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
- 5–10 years of experience in roadway/transportation engineering.
- Experience with Open Roads, AutoCAD or Civil3D.
- Experience using traffic software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA, VISSIM, or RODEL.
- PE license is preferred.
- Project management experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform traffic engineering studies and analysis for roadway performance and safety.
- Design traffic signals, signing and pavement marking plans, and MOT for MDOT projects.
- Use Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, or SIDRA to model traffic conditions for design decisions.
- Collaborate with roadway engineers and project managers to integrate traffic solutions.
- Review plans and deliverables for quality and Michigan compliance.
- Support field reviews and construction-phase traffic needs; prepare reports and cost estimates.
