Qualifications

Responsibilities

We're looking for someone who knows their craft and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty.

Post Services Inc. is growing, and we're looking to bring an experienced tile installer onto our team. We specialize in high-end residential remodeling, from custom bathrooms and kitchens to full condominium renovations throughout Chicago and the North Shore.

Tile installation will be your primary trade, but we're looking for more than someone who only sets tile. We want a well-rounded construction professional who can also lend a hand with drywall, painting, carpentry, and other remodeling work when needed.

The biggest perk? Steady work. We know tile isn't needed on every job, and we don't want our guys sitting at home waiting for the next tile project. When there's no tile to install, there's plenty of other work to keep moving.

What You'll Be Doing:

Tile Installation (Your Main Focus)

• Installing large-format porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, and mosaic tile.
• Building and tiling custom showers, including niches, benches, and shower floors.
• Waterproofing and working with Schluter or similar systems.
• Handling layouts, precise cuts, leveling, grouting, and finishing.
• Preparing surfaces properly and delivering clean, detailed installations.

Other Remodeling Work

• Drywall installation, patching, taping, and mudding.
• Interior painting and surface preparation.
• Basic carpentry, trim, and general finish work.
• Helping the crew with other remodeling tasks as needed.
• Keeping jobsites clean, organized, and protected.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional tile installation experience preferred.
• Solid experience with large-format tile and custom showers.
• A good understanding of waterproofing and proper installation methods.
• Experience with drywall, painting, or other remodeling trades.
• Someone who can work independently but also knows how to be part of a team.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Good attention to detail, especially when working in occupied homes and high-end properties.

You don't have to know everything, but you do need to know your trade, show up ready to work, and be willing to pitch in.
