Waltonen Engineering Inc. is seeking a Welder to join our team in Troy, MI. The role reports to the Independence Tooling Operations Manager and focuses on completing welding for automotive, aerospace, defense, and energy projects.

You will analyze prints/CAD, fit up, tack, and weld with GTAW/TIG and GMAW/MIG processes, welding aluminum and steel. Maintain a safe workspace; prepare WPS/PQR; obtain necessary operator certifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with TIG welding and fabrication.
• Basic understanding of prints and GD&T.
• Experience performing equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety practices.

Responsabilités

• Report to Independence Tooling Operations Manager.
• Complete welding requirements for automotive, aerospace, defense, and energy projects.
• Analyze prints and CAD to fit up, tack, and weld GTAW/TIG and GMAW/MIG.
• Weld aluminum and steel.
• Maintain clean, organized workspace and perform pre-weld inspections.
• Create and follow welding documentation (WPS, PQR, weld maps).
• Ensure safety and be prepared for inspections by a CWI.
• Earn operator certifications for GTAW Aluminum and GMAW Steel; crane training provided.
