Responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced accountant to manage the accounting function for three clients. Of the three, one is on Deltek Costpoint, one on QuickBooks Online (QBO) and the third, a start-up, is on Unanet. The successful candidate will manage one employee that supports the Deltek and QBO clients but is the main accountant on the Unanet client.
Specific tasks are as follows:
- Manage the monthly close process including reviewing financials, analyzing, and posting journal entries, reviewing reconciliations, and project reports
- Issue monthly and annual financials
- Responsible for key accounting tasks such as revenue recognition, payroll entries and allocations, fixed assets, and project accounting analysis
- Record cash receipts and billings (for Unanet client),
- Record vendor invoices and process payments and other disbursements (for Unanet client)
- Reconcile bank accounts, loan balances, credit card accounts, and various other databases
- Monitor and forecast cash flow which includes preparation of schedules on expectations of project forecasts, collection of accounts receivable and prediction of payments on vendor invoices
- Preparation of monthly variance analysis of actual versus budget/forecast
- Process payroll using third-party provider and support onboarding for payroll and benefits
- For the Deltek Costpoint client, monitor the financial status of projects and the financial integrity of project reports and overseeing the accountant who interacts with the Project Managers
- Support the annual review/audit processes and tax returns
- Work with team and financial analyst in the annual budget preparation,
- Manage insurance policies and needs for clients
- Interface and work closely with Senior Management for financial statement review, cash flow discussions and other ad hoc reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5-7 years recent professional accounting experience
- CPA background helpful/desired and in-depth knowledge of GAAP
- Government contracting experience is required
- Advanced experience with Deltek Costpoint is required, specifically in the following modules:
- Projects Module-understanding of revenue formulas, burden and project reports and project setup
- Purchase Orders
- Accounting Module
- Time and Expense Module
- Planning Module-for use of forecasting
- Experience with Unanet is highly desirable
- Experience using QuickBooks Online for small entities is desirable
- Must have knowledge of multiple contract types (Cost Reimbursable, Fixed Price, Labor Hour)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision and multitask
- Demonstrates problem solving and analytical skills
