Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking an Experienced Asphalt Shuttle Buggy Operator for the 2026 season to operate paving equipment safely and efficiently on commercial projects in the Midwest. The role requires 3–5 years of shuttle buggy experience and the ability to work varied hours including nights and weekends.

The position supports union-affiliated employment with access to training and comprehensive benefits via our union partners.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License is required; CDL desirable but not required.
• Three to five years of asphalt shuttle buggy operating experience.
• Be punctual and dependable; able to work varied hours including nights, mornings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt shuttle buggy and related paving equipment safely and efficiently (including asphalt rollers).
• Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE on all assignments.

The Position

We're looking for an Experienced Asphalt Shuttle Buggy Operator for the upcoming 2026 season responsible for operating several types of paving equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This equipment may include, but is not limited to, asphalt rollers.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
• Minimum of three to five years of previous work experience in asphalt shuttle buggy operation.
• A CDL is desired but not necessary.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Have the ability to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
• Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.
• Member of the appropriate trade union or willingness to become a union member are required. Union membership is not required prior to employment. Our Human Resources Department is able to assist in that process as needed.
