Job summary

Johnson Controls Security Technician position is based on on-site service in the United States. The role requires diagnosing and repairing intrusion, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers.

You will inspect systems, produce written or digital reports, and communicate next steps to customers to restore full functionality. Responsibilities include coordinating inspections, reading schematics, using hand/power tools, and ensuring safe operation of vehicles while

Qualifications

• 5 years in low-voltage or security industry.
• Excellent knowledge of major security platforms (Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.).
• Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to unload ladder from fleet vehicle and climb ladder.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle safely.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
• Perform repairs and/or inspections of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, Access Control systems and fire alarms (if applicable).
• Assist fellow service technicians with system repairs and complete minor repairs including battery replacement.
• Test operation of system to the customer monitoring center to properly establish service connectivity.
• Complete all forms accurately and customer paperwork as required.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What you will do

A Johnson Controls Security Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert possessing knowledge and experience with intrusion, IP CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers. Candidate will possess strong verbal communication skills as they identify the needs of the customer and then inform them of next steps and processes to repair the system as needed to return full functionality. Candidate will possess skills and experience to inspect said systems to ensure proper functionality and provide written or digital reports to customer and company as needed. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service

How you will do it

What we look for

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26-$35 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflectsthe target compensation for this role.
