Job summary

Amentum seeks mid-level scientists/engineers to support DARPA MXO programs in Ballston, Arlington, VA. This full-time on-site role requires active clearance and the ability to work with government, industry, and academia partners.

Responsibilities include SE&TA support, briefing program managers, evaluating technologies, and coordinating tests and reviews. A strong candidate will demonstrate mature judgment, excellent communication, and experience with DoD/DARPA programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering, scientific, or technological discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret security clearance; US citizenship required.
• MXO-relevant disciplines (chemistry, engineering, RF, materials, hardware, quantum, AI/ML, etc.).
• Mature technical judgement and ability to advise senior government personnel.
• Experience planning and executing DoW-relevant R&D programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide SETA to DARPA in advanced technology and prototype demos.
• Offer technical input to DARPA PMs, IPTs, and research communities.
• Identify, develop, and implement new program concepts.
• Translate requirements into R&D objectives.
• Perform independent tech assessments of new tech and designs.
