Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a registered nurse for the Labor & Delivery/acute care setting in Largo, MD. The role requires MD RN licensure with 2+ years in L&D or critical care, and BLS/ACLS certification. A BSN is preferred.

The nurse will provide independent patient care, coordinate with the multidisciplinary team, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. The position is full-time with night shifts and offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in MD or eligible per MD Board of Nursing.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery or acute/critical care.
• BSN preferred or ADN required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides independent care to unit-specific patient population and acts as a clinical resource for others.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care addressing patient/family needs.
• Participates in Performance Improvement and Evidence Based Practice activities at the unit level.
• Ensures compliance with standards and participates in unit-level regulatory activities.
• Preceptor/mentor to new nurses and students as part of professional development.
