Job summary

Norwegian American Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced ED Registered Nurse to join our team. You will plan, provide, supervise and document expert nursing care for patients in the emergency department, following physician orders and hospital policies.

The position requires 1+ year ED experience, current RN licensure and CPR certification. We offer 12-hour shifts, a collaborative team environment and opportunities to contribute to patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of ED experience required.
  • Current RN licensure in good standing.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Associates degree or higher in Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, provides, supervises, and documents professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for ED patients per physician orders and policies.
  • Communicates with nurses, physicians, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Charts observations and activities related to patient care in the electronic health record.
  • Provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for patients on the ED unit.
  • Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
  • Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Performs interventions according to priorities, plan of care, infection control, and hospital policies.
  • Collects blood specimens by venipuncture or micro techniques for lab analysis.
  • Operates department equipment as needed.
  • We have 12 hour shifts and seek EXPERIENCED ED-RN.

  • Pay or shift range: $52 USD to $55 USD

Experienced Registry ED Nurses. Come join our TEAM of specialty Care Nurses. ED needs you!

  • Plans, provides, supervises, and documents professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
  • Communicates and collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Charts observations and activities related to patient care in electronic health record.
  • Provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population on a specific unit.
  • Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
  • Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, infection control and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standards.
  • Collects blood specimens by venipuncture or micro techniques for laboratory analysis necessary for patient treatment and diagnosis.
  • Operates equipment that is needed to perform department specific duties

Requirements
