Copper River Technologies in Newport, RI seeks an experienced Rigger to support complex rigging and weight-handling operations in industrial and maritime environments. The role plans, assembles, installs, and operates rigging systems to move heavy equipment through confined spaces.

Responsibilities include planning rigging, inspecting equipment, directing crane operators, and maintaining a safe work environment aboard ships, in hangars, piers, and facilities.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver's license.
• Experience with complex rigging and weight-handling operations.
• Experience with wire and fiber rope rigging, including cutting, splicing, assembly, repair, and installation.
• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other material-handling equipment.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute complex rigging and weight-handling operations.
• Assemble, install, inspect, maintain, and repair rigging systems, including chain falls, tackle blocks, gin poles, beam clamps, pad eyes, and related equipment.
• Evaluate load size, weight, route, support structures, obstacles, and clearances to determine safe rigging methods.
• Use multi-point suspension techniques to maneuver loads over, under, and around obstacles.
• Direct crane and weight-handling equipment operators using standard signals.
• Inspect equipment and work areas for hazards and take corrective action to maintain safe operations.
