Qualifications

Job description

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, we have a full-time position available for an experienced refrigeration engineer to join our Food & Beverage group. This opportunity would be available at one of the following office locations: St. Louis, MO; Denver, CO; Bloomington, MN; Madison or West Allis, WI.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting job-site surveys
  • Calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling and building loads
  • Assisting in the development of project documentation including: drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.
  • Selecting and applying system equipment to new and existing systems
  • Coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors and clients.

A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university AND at least six years of relevant experience. PE license is also strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will have any/all the following:

  • Experience with Ammonia refrigeration design
  • Experience with food plant project design
  • Experience with chilled water/hydronic design
  • Experience developing P&IDs
  • Familiarity with managing project invoices
  • Experience working directly with clients including marketing to obtain future work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Experience mentoring less experienced staff

Salary Range: $100,000 to $130,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
