Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking an Experienced Excavator Operator to join our quarry operations team in Smyrna, Tennessee. The role demands proven heavy equipment operation experience, safety-first mindset, and a commitment to efficient excavation processes while supporting SRM’s safety, productivity, and excellence standards.

Responsibilities include daily equipment checks, coordinating material movement, and maintaining a safe, productive work site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Heavy Equipment Operator in a quarry or similar industrial setting.
• Valid certification in operating heavy machinery.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and distribution techniques.
• In-depth understanding of industry safety standards and regulations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform minor repairs.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• High level of physical fitness.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other quarry machinery safely to minimize risk of injury or damage.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Coordinate with site management to plan and monitor material movement within the quarry.
• Adjust equipment settings to meet project requirements.
• Identify maintenance needs and minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and report hazards.
• Participate in ongoing training and follow safety policies.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely completion of projects.
