Job summary

Primrose School of Aliana is seeking an Early Education Teacher to support infants through Pre-K with the Balanced Learning approach. You will implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and collaborate with a leadership team to support student growth in a warm, safe environment.

You will observe and assess each child’s development, deliver planned lessons, and communicate with families, while upholding health and safety standards and participating in ongoing professional

Qualifications

  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
  • Infant - Preschool Teachers: 2 year or 4 year degree in early childhood or related field preferred
  • Pre-Kindergarten Teachers: 4 year degree in early childhood or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise classroom and playground visually and by hearing to ensure child safety
  • Oversee overall classroom function
  • Adhere to all health, safety and care regulations
  • Assess each child’s developmental needs continually
  • Implement approved lesson plans and daily schedule per Balanced Learning
  • Plan parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with Leadership Team
  • Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom encouraging exploration and decisions
  • Provide clear expectations and positive reinforcement to children
  • Assist with classroom and playground housekeeping duties as needed
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops and school functions
  • Maintain professional appearance per Employee Handbook
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by Director or designee

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall supervision through visual monitoring across classroom and playground, hearing and continual awareness of children’s locations and activities.
  • Oversee overall classroom function.
  • Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Aliana and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
  • Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming.
  • Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
  • Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Aliana Employee Handbook
  • Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
Essential Job Functions
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
  • Must be able to teach and supervise children outside in varied weather
  • Must be able to supervise children visually and through hearing to ensure safety of children
  • Assisting children with activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and toileting.
  • Engaging in physical activities with children, including playing, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
  • Communicating effectively with children, parents, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
  • Implementing lesson plans and educational activities appropriate for various age groups.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Responding quickly to emergencies or safety issues involving children or coworkers.
  • Following health and safety guidelines, including sanitation and hygiene practices.
  • Collaborating with other staff members and administrators to ensure the well-being of children.
  • Meet basic requirements of child licensing and other regulatory agencies.
