Experienced Outside Upholsterer

The Company:

Shenandoah Furniture is a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation. Hooker Furnishings, in its 100th year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.

The Position:

We are looking for a dependable individual with great attention to detail to join our upholstery team as an Experienced Outside Upholsterer in our Mount Airy, NC location.

This individual will:

• Attach fabric & padding materials to furniture frame.
• Use staple gun and other hand tools such as pneumatic screwdriver, mallet, scissors, and utility knife.
• Use hammering motion to apply material to furniture frames.
• Read production tickets and spec sheets in order to apply material correctly.

Candidates that will be a great fit will:

• Have previous outside upholstery experience.
• Be a hard-working individual that wants a long-term career where they can earn more money as they increase in skills.
• Be physically able to stand for up to 8-9 hours per day and lift furniture on and off lift table.
• Have strong hand-eye coordination to apply fabric to frames.
• Have good attention to detail and desire to produce not just quantity, but high-quality products.
• Be goal-oriented, self-motivated, and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.

Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:30am-4:00pm and Friday 6:30am-10:30am
