Job summary

Muddy Creek Animal Care Center in Rowley, MA is seeking an experienced or licensed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced hospital team. The successful candidate will have at least two years of small animal surgical experience, hold a VTNE-ready credential or be licensed, and contribute to perioperative care, client education, and compassionate patient support.

• At least two years of small animal surgical experience.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician credential preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vaccines and preventive medicine.
• Experience obtaining patient histories and maintaining medical records.
• Confidence performing venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Excellent communication and client education skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery and provide perioperative nursing care.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery as directed.
• Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
• Administer and dispense medications accurately.
• Perform pharmacology calculations.
• Collect blood samples and place intravenous catheters.
• Support preventive care appointments and client education.
• Administer vaccines and educate clients about preventive healthcare.
• Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care.
