Job summary

Medical Veterinary Service is seeking an Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate, two-doctor practice in a supportive team environment. We value hands-on patient care and collaboration among veterinarians, technicians, and staff to deliver high-quality medicine.

  • Licensure is welcome but not required.
  • Strong animal handling and restraint skills.
  • Experience performing laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Experience assisting with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Strong technical and patient care skills.
  • Excellent communication and client education skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy veterinary environment while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to patients.
  • Safely handle and restrain patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Obtain patient histories and communicate relevant information to the veterinarian.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and other in-house laboratory procedures.
  • Perform and assist with digital radiographs.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed.
  • Assist with anesthesia, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Monitor and care for hospitalized patients as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
  • Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and their pet’s ongoing healthcare needs.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and team members.

What Our Veterinary Technicians Do



  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures

  • Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to patients

  • Safely handle and restrain patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures

  • Obtain patient histories and communicate relevant information to the veterinarian

  • Perform diagnostic testing, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and other in-house laboratory procedures

  • Perform and assist with digital radiographs

  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed

  • Assist with anesthesia, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery

  • Monitor and care for hospitalized patients, including weekend patient care as needed

  • Perform venipuncture, sample collection, and other technical procedures appropriate to your experience and skill level

  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records

  • Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and their pet’s ongoing healthcare needs

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and team members

  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment areas, exam rooms, equipment, and supplies

  • Work closely with veterinarians and support staff to keep patient care and hospital flow running smoothly
