Job summary

University of Louisville Physicians is seeking a sonographer to independently operate ultrasound equipment, perform OB/GYN exams, and communicate results to the attending physician. You will maintain high ethical standards and stay current with new procedures.

Essential duties include chart reviews, exam preparation, patient coordination, report entry, and equipment maintenance while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• ARDMS OB/GYN registration within 9 months of hire date is required for OB/GYN department.
• Nuchal translucency certification within 9 months of hire date is required.
• CLEAR certification within 9 months of hire date is required.
• BLS certification by AHA is required.
• Minimum 3 years of OB/GYN ultrasound experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment independently according to department guidelines.
• Correlate patient history with the exam and report results to the physician.
• Prepare patient and equipment for exam and disinfect probes per guidelines.
• Enter patient reports into the reporting system and schedule follow-ups.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and company policies; assist staff as needed.
• Ensure equipment and rooms are clean, stocked, and functioning properly.
