Job summary

Wilson & Company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to support HVAC and plumbing design for commercial, institutional, governmental, and educational facilities.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of building HVAC systems, piping, PFDs, and P&IDs, and experience with AutoCAD and Revit in a BIM environment. Opportunities include collaboration with a broad project team and involvement from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years mechanical design experience in the consulting engineering field.
• EI certificate from New Mexico SBLPES is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and other design related software.
• Significant mechanical and plumbing design experience.
• Federal project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Equipment selection and mechanical plan layout within a BIM design environment.
• Assist in developing project technical standards, processes, and procedures.
• Follow directions from the Engineer of Record and meet schedules and budgets.
• Provide field observation reports and onsite analyses.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams from concept to completion, including site visits and RFIs.

Job description

Wilson & Company is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to assist our mechanical engineering and design team with a focus in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, governmental, and educational facilities .

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding and background in building HVAC systems, plumbing systems, piping, process systems, control systems, PFD, and P&IDs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Equipment selection, mechanical plan layout, cost estimating, coordination with other consultants and team members, and client interaction. Develop and design within a BIM design environment
• Assist in developing project technical standards, processes, and procedures
• Ability to take direction from the Engineer of Record (EOR) and complete projects within project schedules and assigned budgets
• Provide field observation reports of onsite analysis and consultation
• Collaborate with the internal and external project team to execute a project from concept to completion including meeting attendance, site visits, response to RFIs, submittal review and responses
• Maintain rapport with industry vendors and stay up to date on the latest mechanical system trends and solutions appropriate to building technologies and design/construction industry

Annual Salary Range: $60,000 to $110,000+ (based on experience)
