Description

Machine Operators support production operations at our processing plants by safely operating and maintaining equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to perform efficient equipment changeovers, and skill in basic preventative maintenance. Operators work in a fast‑paced food‑processing environment with exposure to heat and strong odors such as vinegar and jalapeños, ensuring consistent product quality and smooth production flow.

Overtime is to be expected in these roles (includes Saturday work during our peak season).

Essential Functions
  • Operate production equipment safely and efficiently according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform equipment changeovers, setups, and adjustments to support scheduled production runs.
  • Conduct basic preventative maintenance including lubrication, cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs.
  • Monitor equipment performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot mechanical problems to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect products for quality, accuracy, and consistency; report deviations immediately.
  • Maintain accurate production, downtime, and maintenance records.
  • Follow all safety protocols, GMPs, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to resolve equipment or process issues.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation standards.
  • Work in environments with elevated temperatures and strong food‑processing odors, including vinegar and jalapeños.
  • Use appropriate PPE when working around brine, spices, and other processing materials.
What to Expect
  • Exposure to heat: Operators may work near hot equipment, steam, or warm processing areas.
  • Exposure to strong odors: Regular exposure to vinegar, jalapeños, and other food‑processing smells associated with pickle production.
  • Wet or humid conditions: Some tasks occur in damp or brine‑adjacent areas.
  • Standing for extended periods: Most shifts require continuous standing, walking, and equipment monitoring.
  • Use of PPE: Gloves, aprons, safety glasses, and other protective equipment provided as needed.
Requirements
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand, operate, and troubleshoot production equipment
  • Experience performing equipment changeovers, setups, and adjustments
  • Basic preventative maintenance skills including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs
  • Ability to work in environments with heat, steam, and strong food‑processing odors such as vinegar and jalapeños
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, GMPs, and company policies
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work day or night shifts as assigned
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a production team
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior manufacturing or food‑processing experience is a plus
