Job summary

Fields Motorcars Chicago is seeking a positive Service Technician to join our luxury-focused dealership team. You will diagnose, repair, and test automotive systems, communicating with the Service Advisor about additional repairs and times.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.
• A level qualification including diagnostic, electrical and engine repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Positive, friendly attitude and customer-service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems incl. engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about any additional service and estimate time for repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test‑drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• A level qualification, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic Computer skills
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
• Enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment
• Team player
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record according to dealership guidelines
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment

Pay Range: $50 - $70 Flat Rate DOE
