Job description

Cornerstone Custom Construction is looking to hire an Experienced Lead Carpenter to help in our Framing and performance areas of SIP's and ICF construction.

Role and Responsibilities:
This work is highly skilled, and you must possess exceptional knowledge of carpentry, the supervision of it, and managing an efficient crew. This is a hands-on position. You will be constantly in a leadership mode, providing guidance and instruction regularly. Leadership training and guidance to lead a healthy team are part of a continual growth commitment. You must ensure the job site is clean, organized, safe, tools & equipment are managed, and that good communication is taking place. People skills are required to manage teams and customers.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
6+ years in carpentry focused on framing. Ideally, experience in SIP's and ICF construction is desirable. Formal training is a plus. High School Diploma, GED, or additional other education also help.

Required Skills:

  1. Review & follow plans, scope of work, and create cost estimates as required for Change Orders & additional work.
  2. Review the materials list, and ensure that timelines are adjusted for availability, cost, and time constraints.
  3. Schedule and assign labor, materials, and resources, and provide direction to achieve needed results.
  4. Ensure that all carpenters and apprentices are given the roles in which they can excel.
  5. Train team members for building, repair, and alteration of structures.
  6. Ensure that they work together as a team.
  7. Coordinate carpentry teamwork in conjunction with other trades.
  8. Prepare reports, Change Orders, employee related documents, and tool repair slips.
  9. Communicate with team members honestly & constructively, in both positive areas & areas that require improvement.
  10. Create timelines and project scopes, which meet project requirements.
  11. Build according to plans and code requirements, and know Framing, SIP's and ICF construction.
  12. Make Schedules work.
  13. Be able to field perform.

Location:
Varies.

Possible Travel Required:
Possible - Mostly in the Twin Cities Metro areas.

Level/Salary Range:
$28-$40/Hr. Based on Experience.
Possibilities to start as Carpenter and grow into Leadership: $26-$35/Hr.

Position Type: Full Time. **Available for weekends as weather or schedule requires.
