Job summary

The Coeur d'Alene Police Department is seeking experienced lateral police officers for immediate field placement in Idaho. Officers will patrol city areas, enforce laws, and engage with the public to prevent crime. A $10,000 relocation/hiring bonus is available for qualified out-of-area applicants until funds are exhausted.

Lateral candidates must meet Idaho POST requirements and possess POST certification. High school diploma or GED required; a 2-year college degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Lateral applicants must meet Idaho POST requirements.
• POST basic certification is required; intermediate certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas of the City by car, bicycle, or on foot.
• Enforce State and local laws and ordinances; respond to calls for service.
• Prepare reports of arrests, activities, and incidents; testify in court when needed.
• Coordinate investigations of violent crimes, property crimes, and narcotics.
• Provide public services and engage with the community to prevent crime.
