Chartwells Higher Ed is hiring a full-time COOK at Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, MA. The role involves preparing restaurant-quality meals for large-scale institutional dining according to recipes and HACCP standards, with a fixed pay rate of $22.00 per hour.

You will follow schedules Tue-Thu 11:30 am to 8:00 pm, Fri 11:30 am to 7:00 pm, Sat 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, and participate in safety meetings, inventory, and maintaining clean, safe kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Prior large-batch cooking experience is required.
• Experience in institutional dining operations preferred.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and HACCP standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality, large-batch meals according to standardized recipes and timelines.
• Portions and serves meals ensuring temperature, quality and presentation.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and stores food per standards.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assists in inventory, ordering and receiving of food and supplies.
• Reports maintenance needs and safety concerns to supervisor.
