Experienced Intake / Verification Specialist

We are seeking experienced and motivated benefit verification and authorization experts to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and will work in compliance with Federal and State rules, regulations, and policies related to benefit verification and authorization activities.

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Knowledge of patient insurance eligibility and benefits processes for payers such as Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, Humana, Worker’s Comp, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Understanding of authorization processes including GAPs, pre-determinations, PCP referrals, and single case agreements.
• Accurate entry of insurance and authorization data into EHR systems per SOPs.
• Follow-up on pending or expired authorizations and referrals.
• Review denial cases for accuracy and manage the appeal process.
• Document all calls and interactions per SOPs.
• Timely response to quality reviews.
• Respect patient rights and confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical terminology.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
