Job summary

Chicago Magnesium Casting and Midwest Aerospace Casting, LLC. seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep production running safely and efficiently. The role covers electrical, mechanical and building maintenance, including equipment installation, inspections and repairs.

You will document repairs in our electronic systems and uphold strict health and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Prior general maintenance experience and electrical knowledge required.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs installation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Inspects, tests and adjusts systems, machinery and equipment per maintenance schedule.
• Responds to safety and security calls regarding machinery.
• Maintains grounds including mowing and parking lot repairs.
• Records repair and preventive maintenance details in electronic systems.

Description

Basic Function:

Maintenance of machines and building equipment, facility repair, electrical, calibration, installations, preventative maintenance and other duties to keep production operating efficiently and safely.

Physical Requirements:

Maximum Lift Weight 50 #

Maximum Push/Pull Weight 200 #

% Of Time Sitting 10%

% Of Time Standing 90%

Exposed to Severe Weather Conditions: Yes; At times anyone who works in maintenance may have to work outside during the heat of summer or the cold of winter. Repairs are sometimes needed to equipment that is located outside.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs a variety of electrical trade functions to include installation, maintenance and repair of equipment
2. Performs checks and balances on machines to assure the proper functioning .
3. Inspects, tests and adjusts all systems, machinery and equipment per maintenance schedule
4. Responds to verbal or written instructions for safety and security calls regarding machinery.
5. Inspects damaged parts, determines nature of repair and uses repair tools to rework or refinish worn or damaged parts
6. Upkeeps the grounds to include mowing, shrubs, trees, general yard work and parking lot repairs.
7. Repairs minor problems of buildings and foundations to include the roof, ceilings, walls, floors, basements and all mechanical contents of the building.
8. Delivers and/or picks up supplies when needed.
9. Applies general knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, welding, painting and masonry work as needed.
10. Resolves problems and discrepancies with jobs and/or interacts with management to amend the issue.
11. Records repair and preventative maintenance details into electronic systems
12. Maintains work area in a neat and clean manner.
13. Returns tools and unused maintenance supplies to maintenance room at end of each day.
14. Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.
15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
