Experienced Industrial Engineer – Boeing (Berkeley, MO)

Position Overview

As an Industrial Engineer, you will apply industrial engineering concepts and techniques to optimize products, processes, and services in alignment with program requirements. Responsibilities include developing plant layouts, capacity plans, and workflows while evaluating new technologies for production and service integration.

Position Responsibilities
  • Apply industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.
  • Develop plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.
  • Evaluate new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Conduct work flow design and analysis.
  • Develop models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders and customers.
  • Research, design, develop, improve, and implement processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality for large‑scale systems integration and asset utilization.
  • Develop and implement plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Create product assembly instructions and standardize assembly practices.
  • Prepare operations plans, including work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis, and production changes, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.
  • Support execution planning by using project management, planning, scheduling and shop load practices.
  • Provide production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support.
  • Ensure compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (incl. manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • 5+ years of experience applying advanced knowledge and application of production engineering principles to analyze and implement manufacturing processes and methods.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management and leading cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience with capacity planning, manpower forecasting, line balancing, time and motion studies, process modeling and lean manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)
  • 7+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in lean manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of experience partnering with all key functions in an integrator/lead role.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and desire to stabilize and improve manufacturing.
Benefits & Compensation

Pay range: $86,700 – $117,300 (subject to experience and market). The Boeing 401(k) plan matches contributions dollar for dollar up to 10% of eligible pay.
