As an Experienced Patient Care Professional, you will play a vital role in:

• Supporting emergency and critical care patients throughout hospitalization
• Assisting with advanced diagnostics and treatments
• Monitoring patient status and advocating for patient needs
• Collaborating with specialists and emergency clinicians
• Providing compassionate, high-quality care during every stage of treatment
• Collaborate with veterinarians regarding patient priorities, admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
• Assist in managing caseload distribution and workflow during high-volume periods.
• Monitor hospitalized patient census and proactively identify resource or staffing needs.
• Serve as a point person for patient care coordination during emergencies and critical events.
• Support hospital-wide communication regarding patient status, treatment plans, and operational updates.

Qualifications: Education/Experience

Language Ability:

Ability to understand both written and verbal instructions regarding patient care and treatments. Ability to appropriately chart patient parameters, subjective observations, and independently utilize provided resources for standard operating procedures. Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from managers, doctors, and clients.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as drug doses, dilutions, percentages, rate, ratio and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, add subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions.

Computer Skills:

Computer literacy in common computer software programs.

Special Skills:

Equine restraint/handling and horsemanship skills.
