Elmar Heating & Cooling is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician for our residential service team in the Greater Baltimore area. You will diagnose, maintain and repair residential HVAC equipment while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential HVAC service and repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience conventional systems, heat pumps, gas furnaces.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing ductless mini-splits.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams & technical docs.
• Strong customer service & communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls.
• Ability to explain findings and options without high-pressure sales.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential heating and cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot conventional air conditioners, heat pumps, gas furnaces, & air handlers.
• Service and troubleshoot ductless mini-splits, single- and multi-zone.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and evaluations.
• Diagnose electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and mechanical issues.
• Identify deficiencies and recommend repair or replacement solutions.
• Educate homeowners on maintenance plans and options.
• Identify opportunities for new HVAC installations.
• Complete accurate service documentation and communicate findings clearly.
• Follow manufacturer specs, safety procedures, and codes.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced technicians when needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and represent the company with integrity.

What You'll Do:

As a Senior HVAC Service Technician, you'll diagnose, maintain, and repair residential HVAC equipment while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair residential heating and cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot conventional air conditioners, heat pumps, gas furnaces, and air handlers.
• Service and troubleshoot ductless mini-split systems, including single-zone and multi-zone equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, system inspections, and performance evaluations.
• Diagnose electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and mechanical problems.
• Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
• Educate homeowners on maintenance plans, repair options, and system improvements.
• Identify qualifying opportunities for new HVAC system installations.
• Complete accurate service documentation and communicate findings clearly.
• Follow manufacturer specifications, safety procedures, and applicable codes.
• Provide technical guidance to less-experienced technicians when needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and represent Elmar Heating & Cooling with integrity.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of residential HVAC service and repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Extensive experience servicing conventional HVAC systems, heat pumps, and gas furnaces.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing ductless mini-split systems.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.
• Ability to explain technical findings and recommend appropriate solutions without high-pressure sales tactics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience servicing Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, or similar ductless systems.
• Advanced electrical and refrigeration troubleshooting experience.
• Boiler and hydronic heating system experience.
• Tankless water heater experience.
• Light commercial HVAC service experience.
• Previous experience mentoring or training junior technicians.
