Job description

We are a small, family-owned residential/light commercial HVAC company located in the beautiful Florida Keys. We are looking for a qualified, experienced service technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Honesty and reliability are a must. The applicant needs to be self-motivated, have good customer service skills, and a strong work ethic. The Service Technician reports to the Service Manager and is responsible for performing a range of HVACR jobs for light commercial and residential customers.

A Service Technician must be able to accurately diagnose and efficiently accomplish a job to the mutual benefit of the customer and Mead Mechanical. Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Conducting HVAC servicing jobs promptly and efficiently.
2. Performing routine HVAC service activities without direct oversight or on-site assistance.
3. Installing new air conditioning systems.
4. Installing duct systems on new projects or existing projects.
5. Being available for on-call evening/weekend rotation.
6. Performing related duties as directed by the Service Manager.

Job Qualifications:

1. Three or more years of successful experience, either as a service or installation technician.
2. Currently have an EPA Universal certification.
3. NATE certification encouraged.
4. Good verbal and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and to clearly communicate with customers, suppliers, and other Mead Mechanical employees.
5. Physical ability to perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances, and extreme weather conditions found in Florida.
6. Interest and initiative in maintaining and advancing HVAC skills through self-study, company training, manufacturers' workshops, and other professional development activities.
7. Current valid FL driver's license and a clean driving record.
8. Ability to pass a background check.
9. Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs, and backlog constraints.
