Wheelhouse Plumbing Inc. in Pierre, SD is seeking an Experienced HVAC Installer to join our team. You will install HVAC systems, ductwork, refrigerant lines, and ventilation in commercial and some residential projects, with an emphasis on quality workmanship.

You will read blueprints, perform rough-ins, system testing, and commissioning, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to codes and safety standards. The role includes mentoring apprentices and coordinating with other trades on site.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level experience required or preferred.

We're looking for a skilled and dependable Experienced HVAC Installer to join our team in Pierre, SD. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and wants to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects.

In this role, you'll install HVAC equipment, ductwork, refrigerant lines, and ventilation systems in homes and commercial buildings. You'll also assist with system testing and troubleshooting while working alongside other skilled trades to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to our quality standards.

What You'll Do

• Install commercial HVAC systems, including ductwork, equipment, refrigerant lines, and ventilation systems.

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and equipment layouts.

• Complete HVAC rough‑ins, installations, system testing, and final commissioning.

• Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues, including airflow restrictions, refrigerant leaks, and equipment malfunctions.

• Ensure installations meet applicable building codes, safety requirements, and quality standards.

• Coordinate with other trades and project supervisors to maintain project schedules.

• Assist with material planning, equipment management, and maintaining organized job sites.

• Provide guidance and hands‑on training to HVAC apprentices as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Journeyman level experience.

• Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC systems.

• Commercial or industrial HVAC installation experience preferred.

• 5+ years of HVAC experience preferred, particularly in new construction.

• Ability to read blueprints and work independently.

• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

• Commitment to job site safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in varying job site conditions.

Compensation & Opportunity

• $25–$35 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
