Job summary

Orion is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator in the Tampa area to move construction materials, dirt, and other loads using excavators, bulldozers, graders, and related gear on active job sites. The role requires the ability to work 8–12 hour shifts, including weekends, with supervision and safety as top priorities.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience operating earth-moving equipment, a basic understanding of construction principles, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience operating earth-moving equipment.
• Understanding of construction principles and procedures.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Fastens attachments (graders, buckets, and rollers) to tractors with hitch-pins.
• Operates earth-moving equipment.
• Performs inspections of the equipment prior to and at the end of daily operations.
• Greases all appropriate parts as recommended by the manufacturer.
• Maintains the equipment as per manufacturer guidelines.
• Checks to make sure that equipment functions properly.
• Cleans, maintains, and makes basic repairs to equipment.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisors promptly.
