Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Miami, FL to join a national heavy civil contractor. This shop-based role keeps you home every night while you service a diverse fleet of excavators, loaders, cranes, and more.

You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems, with an emphasis on safety and reliability. Strong field repair capability is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment.
• Strong hands-on experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics and troubleshoot complex equipment problems.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus; ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues.
• Troubleshoot using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Repair, replace, or rebuild components as needed.
• Perform field repairs and maintenance on local jobsites.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
• Keep tools, service vehicles, and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
