A Connecticut State contract role with A.R. Mazzotta seeks an Experienced Accountant to provide hands-on accounting and financial support in the CFO's office.

You will handle GAAP-based tasks, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, enabling the department to meet its fiscal objectives. Key duties include monthly closings, P-Card management, and collaboration across the office to ensure compliant financial operations and accurate records.

Qualifikationen

• Requires solid GAAP knowledge and experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and internal controls.
• Public-sector accounting exposure is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.

• Perform daily accounting activities in accordance with GAAP and policies.
• Manage purchasing card (P-Card) activities, including review and documentation.
• Complete monthly and bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain financial records and fiscal controls.
• Support internal controls and procurement compliance.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, schedules, and related docs.
• Assist with budget management, monitoring, and reporting.
• Support fiscal planning and analysis as needed.
• Ensure timely completion of accounting records and provide CFO support.
