The Experienced Field Service Diesel Technician works with some supervision to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment at customer sites, reflecting Wagner's vision of working as “One Professional Team.”
Pay Rate: $36.50 - $52.60 per hour, dependent on education and experience.
Essential Functions

- Maintain truck and crane inspection logs daily
- Complete CAT service reports with proper grammar, legibility, and appropriate SIMS code
- Transmit photos, timecards, service reports, and other information via email
- Keep good customer records on assigned jobs
- Maintain credit card receipts for accounting
- Coordinate with Service, Product Support, and Sales departments to meet customer needs
- Communicate with customers about repairs, parts, and concerns
- Teach and coach other technicians
- Promote Wagner Equipment to customers
- Troubleshoot and repair CAT equipment accurately the first time
- Read and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Safely rig or hook components for lifting
- Remove, repair, and install major components
- Maintain tooling per MSHA and OSHA regulations
- Determine warranty repairs in the field and communicate decisions
- Maintain service vehicle in good condition
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Relevant CAT-related courses
- At least 3+ years servicing heavy equipment
- 1-3 years administrative/clerical experience
- 3-5 years customer service experience
- 3-5 years sales experience
Additional Eligibility Requirements
- DOT Health Card
- Class D Driver’s License
- MSHA License

- Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
- Climbing ladders, stairs, etc.
- Lifting/moving objects up to 100 pounds
- Data entry, communication, reasoning, organizational, math skills
- Safety & product knowledge
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Intermediate knowledge of DBS, ET/SIS, SIS Web, STW
- Ability to work independently
- Well-rounded knowledge of CAT equipment
