At Communications Construction Group, as a Fiber Splicer, you need a minimum of 1 year experience in splicing and placing both copper and fiber cables, as well as troubleshooting them as required.

What you’ll do as a Fiber Splicer

• Splice fiber optic cables in aerial and underground telecom infrastructure
• Build, prep, splice, tag, and test new cables independently to meet client requirements
• Locate and repair cable faults to maintain existing networks without signal failure
• Validate and test end-to-end service provisioning for the cable network
• Ensure accurate cable terminations on cross connects, patch panels, hubs, and routers
• Review site surveys, discrepancy reports, design drawings, and technical manuals for feasibility
• Maintain safe working habits according to all regulations and policies

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the US
• Valid driver’s license
• 2+ years of fiber splicing experience
• Proficiency with test and splicing equipment, and familiarity with company software
• Knowledge of hot cuts and OTDR testing
• Ribbon splicing knowledge is a plus

Physical abilities & exposures

• Stand, crouch, climb, sit, bend, use hands and fingers, reach high and low
• Lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
