What you’ll do as a Fiber Splicer

• Splice fiber optic cables in aerial and underground telecom infrastructure.
• Build, prep, splice, tag, and test new cables independently to meet client requirements.
• Locate and repair cable faults to maintain the existing network without causing signal failures.
• Validate and test end-to-end service provisioning for the network.
• Ensure accurate cable terminations on cross connects, patch panels, hubs, and routers.
• Review site surveys, discrepancy reports, design drawings, and technical manuals for feasibility.
• Maintain safe working habits according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 2 years of fiber splicing experience
• Proficiency with test and splicing equipment, and familiarity with company software for fiber projects
• Knowledge of hot cuts and OTDR testing
• Ribbon splicing knowledge (preferred)

Physical abilities & exposures

• Stand, crouch, climb, sit, bend, and handle tools; reach high and low as required.
• Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
