Job summary

Flex Craft in Minnesota is seeking an experienced Fabricator to join the team on the 1st shift. This hands-on role produces high-quality metal components using fabrication equipment, blueprints, and work instructions.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of fabrication experience, can read drawings, operate plasma tables and common tools, and commits to safety and quality; willingness to assist in different production areas is valued.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of metal fabrication or related manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience setting up and operating common fabrication equipment.
  • Proficiency with measuring and inspection tools.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication methods, materials, tolerances, and shop mathematics.
  • Ability to identify problems and make sound decisions; dependable attendance.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions; commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, work orders, and travelers.
  • Measure, mark, cut, drill, bend, form, fit, and assemble metal components.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment such as plasma table, saws, drills, grinders, presses, shears.
  • Perform welding and tack welding when required.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, gauges, and other measuring tools.
  • Verify dimensions and inspect work to meet quality requirements.
  • Communicate material, equipment, or quality concerns to team members.
  • Complete assigned work within established production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate production, material, and quality records.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow safety procedures and PPE usage.
  • Assist in training less-experienced team members and support other areas as needed.
  • Participate in continuous-improvement efforts related to safety, quality, efficiency, and workflow.

Job Title: 1st Shift Experienced Fabricator Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Wage:$21-$23/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fabricator to join our growing manufacturing team. This hands-on position is responsible for producing high-quality metal components and assemblies using fabrication equipment, hand tools, blueprints, and work instructions.

Because we are a smaller manufacturer, the ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and willing to assist in different areas of production as business needs change. This individual will work closely with supervisors, engineers, quality personnel, and fellow team members to complete projects safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, work orders, and job travelers.
  • Measure, mark, cut, drill, bend, form, fit, and assemble metal components.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment such as plasma table, saws, drills, grinders, presses, shears, and related machinery.
  • Perform welding and tack welding when required.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, gauges, and other measuring tools.
  • Verify dimensions and inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality requirements.
  • Identify material, equipment, or quality concerns and promptly communicate them to the appropriate team member.
  • Complete assigned work within established production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate production, material, and quality records.
  • Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
  • Help train or support less-experienced team members when requested.
  • Assist in other production areas based on workload and company needs.
  • Participate in continuous-improvement efforts related to safety, quality, efficiency, and workflow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of metal fabrication or related manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to independently read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience setting up and operating common fabrication equipment.
  • Proficiency with measuring and inspection tools.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication methods, materials, tolerances, and shop mathematics.
  • Ability to identify problems and make sound decisions within the scope of the position.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively with a small team.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and product quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MIG, TIG, or other welding experience.
  • Experience fabricating steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or tubing.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement practices.
  • Experience working in a custom, job-shop, or high-volume manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, and use hands throughout the shift.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 40 pounds, with assistance or lifting equipment available for heavier materials.
  • Safely push, pull, position, and handle metal parts and assemblies.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety-toe footwear.
