Job summary

Flex Craft is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our growing manufacturing team. You will prepare, paint, and finish metal parts and fabricated products per customer specs and quality standards. You will work with industrial spray equipment and ensure proper surface prep and high-quality finishes.

The role requires knowledge of powder coatings and the ability to read work instructions and drawings. Includes 1st and 2nd shifts with a $1.50 shift differential and a 4-day work week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of industrial painting experience.
• Experience applying powder paint or similar coatings.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, paint mixing, spray techniques, curing requirements, and defect prevention.
• Ability to read work instructions, specifications, and basic manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to wear respirator and other PPE; reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and rust removal.
• Apply powder paints per specifications.
• Operate spray equipment (conventional, HVLP, airless, electrostatic).
• Inspect finished work for defects and measure coating thickness.
• Follow work orders, safety data sheets, and production schedules.
• Maintain and clean spray equipment and work area.

Job Title: 1st & 2nd Shifts Experienced Industrial Painter Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Wage:$21-$23/hour ($1.50 shift differential)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing metal parts and fabricated products according to customer specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial spray equipment, understands proper surface preparation, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality finishes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and removing rust, oil, or debris.
• Apply powder paints according to manufacturer and job specifications.
• Operate conventional, HVLP, airless, or electrostatic spray-painting equipment.
• Adjust spray equipment to achieve the proper coverage, thickness, color, and finish.
• Read and follow work orders, drawings, paint specifications, and safety data sheets.
• Inspect completed work for runs, sags, overspray, missed areas, contamination, and other defects.
• Measure coating thickness and perform touch-ups or rework when necessary.
• Properly mask and protect surfaces that should not be painted.
• Clean and maintain spray guns, hoses, pumps, paint booths, and related equipment.
• Track paint, materials, and completed work accurately.
• Follow production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
• Comply with respiratory protection, hazardous-material handling, and other workplace safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with other production responsibilities as needed in a smaller, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of industrial painting experience, preferably in metal fabrication or manufacturing.
• Experience applying powder paint or similar industrial coatings.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, paint mixing, spray techniques, curing requirements, and defect prevention.
• Ability to recognize and correct common coating problems.
• Ability to read work instructions, specifications, and basic manufacturing drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Reliable attendance and ability to meet production deadlines.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience powder painting steel, weldments, fabricated metal parts, or industrial equipment.
• Experience using thickness gauges.
• Familiarity with paint booths, curing ovens, plural-component systems, or powder coating.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and safe handling of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, crouch, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
• Regularly lift and carry up to 40 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
• Work around paint fumes, dust, noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
• Use ladders, platforms, or other equipment when required.
• Wear safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing, hearing protection, and respiratory protection.
• Must be able to pass required respirator clearance and fit testing.
