Job summary

Campbell's in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Electrician Technician to maintain and troubleshoot electrical and automation systems in a fast-paced food-manufacturing environment. You will ensure safe, reliable operation, comply with OSHA and GMP standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives to deliver high-quality products.

The role requires 5–10 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to read schematics and work with CMMS.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5–10 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain permits/certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo controllers, and related automation systems.
  • Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities through CMMS.
  • Follow OSHA, GMP, food safety and company safety standards.
  • Identify aging automation hardware and recommend replacement or upgrade solutions.
  • Support plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist production and maintenance teams during outages and troubleshooting events.

Pay: $34.45 - $38.70/hour + $2.00/hour Shift Differential

HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…

As an Electrician Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the electrical and automation systems that keep our manufacturing operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will leverage your expertise in industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and controls systems to minimize downtime, optimize equipment performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to delivering high-quality products while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.

WHAT YOU WILL DO…
Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Run conduit and piping, pull wire, and complete electrical terminations to specifications.
  • Diagnose and repair single-phase and three-phase power distribution systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and automation systems.
  • Calibrate, configure, and maintain instrumentation devices and transmitters.
  • Utilize electrical diagnostic tools, including multimeters, ohmmeters, meggers, and other testing equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns while documenting repairs and findings.
Controls & Automation
  • Read, interpret, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo controllers, and related automation systems.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, single-line drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Identify aging and obsolete automation hardware and recommend replacement or upgrade solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement and modernization efforts involving electrical and control systems.
Predictive & Preventive Maintenance
  • Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities through the CMMS.
  • Utilize predictive maintenance technologies such as:
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA), breakdown analysis (BDA), and cause mapping to identify and eliminate recurring failures.
  • Document failure causes and collaborate with maintenance teams to implement corrective actions.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
  • Follow all maintenance and plant safety procedures, including:
  • Adhere to OSHA, GMP, food safety, and company safety standards.
  • Maintain and properly utilize required PPE.
  • Understand and comply with applicable codes and standards, including:
  • Support a culture of safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend and implement improvements to maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Attend training programs, seminars, and technical development opportunities to maintain industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Support plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Support production and maintenance teams during equipment outages and troubleshooting events.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5-10 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Experience working with:
  • Ability to read and interpret:
  • Experience using electrical diagnostic tools such as:
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations including NEC and NFPA requirements.
  • Strong computer skills and experience using CMMS systems.
  • Ability to document maintenance activities and work orders accurately.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees at all levels.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable permits, licenses, forklift certification, and aerial lift certification.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Food and Beverage manufacturing experience.
  • Some college coursework or formal technical training in electrical maintenance, industrial technology, automation, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Electrician.
  • Experience with:
  • Advanced experience with predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Experience leading reliability or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of industrial network communications and advanced automation systems.
  • State electrical license or additional industry certifications.
  • Experience identifying and implementing automation upgrades and modernization projects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment and moving machinery.
  • Subject to indoor facility and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, heat, and cold.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and use of hands throughout the shift.
  • May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
