Job summary

Campbell Soup Company is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep our facility infrastructure, building systems, and utilities safe, efficient, and reliable. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance to support production operations and maintain a productive work environment.

You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment, read blueprints and schematics, operate CMMS documentation, and collaborate with maintenance, production, EHS, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or related environment.
  • Experience performing mechanical and electrical inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Experience supporting facility infrastructure and utility systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Experience using CMMS to document maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Basic computer skills and data/documentation proficiency.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to pass a site-specific maintenance assessment.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain forklift and aerial lift certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and support facility infrastructure, including plumbing, roofing, doors, and building systems.
  • Repair, install, and maintain facility equipment, tools, and infrastructure systems.
  • Fabricate or modify equipment and components to improve functionality.
  • Maintain and repair utility systems (mechanical, electrical, water heaters, boilers, steam, chiller, pneumatic).
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment to maximize uptime and reliability.
  • Document maintenance activities in CMMS and complete repairs.
  • Respond to breakdowns and perform timely repairs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions with teams.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, EHS, and engineering.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will help ensure our facility infrastructure, building systems, and utilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Your expertise in facility maintenance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs will support production operations, drive continuous improvement, and help maintain a safe and productive environment for our employees.

WHAT YOU WILL DO…
Facility & Infrastructure Maintenance
  • Maintain, repair, and support facility infrastructure, including plumbing, roofing, doors, building systems, and general facility maintenance.
  • Repair, install, and maintain facility equipment, tools, and infrastructure systems.
  • Fabricate or modify equipment, tools, and components to improve functionality and support operational needs.
  • Maintain and repair utility systems, including: Mechanical systems Electrical systems Building systems Water heaters and boilers Steam systems Chiller systems Electrical power systems Compressed air systems Natural gas systems.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), inspections, corrective maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and special projects.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility and utility equipment to maximize uptime and reliability.
  • Execute and document planned and unplanned maintenance activities within the CMMS.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), breakdown failure analysis (BDA), and cause mapping to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
  • Document failures and partner with maintenance teams to implement corrective actions.
Building Systems & Trades Support
  • Perform PMs and repairs on: HVAC systems Refrigeration systems Instrumentation systems Elevators Plumbing systems Carpentry projects Grounds maintenance Pumps and motor systems Painting and building repairs.
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild plumbing fixtures and associated connections.
  • Clean and replace traps, drains, vents, drain lines, faucets, and toilets.
  • Perform wallboard installation and repairs as needed.
  • Assist with testing, repair, and replacement of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, emergency lighting, and exit signage.
Safety, Compliance & Environmental Stewardship
  • Follow all maintenance and plant safety procedures, including: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Arc Flash Safety Hot Work Permits Confined Space Procedures Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, GMP, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Properly use and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Support a safe, clean, and organized workplace.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and recommend improvements to facility reliability and maintenance processes.
  • Utilize predictive maintenance technologies, including: Ultrasound Analysis Thermal Imaging Oil Analysis Vibration Analysis.
  • Attend training, seminars, and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.
  • Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Support facility reliability initiatives and plant operational objectives.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, facilities, or related environment.
  • Experience performing mechanical and electrical inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Experience supporting facility infrastructure and utility systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret: Technical manuals Blueprints Schematics Electrical drawings P&IDs.
  • Experience using CMMS software to document maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and maintenance tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to pass a site‑specific maintenance assessment.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift and Aerial Lift certifications.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Technical school, vocational training, or college coursework in maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or food processing environment.
  • Experience with: HVAC systems Refrigeration systems Plumbing Carpentry Welding Pneumatic systems Mechanical systems Electrical systems Mechanical and/or electrical certifications or licenses.
  • Experience utilizing predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and GMP requirements.
  • Experience supporting boilers, steam systems, compressed air systems, or utility operations.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across multiple maintenance disciplines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Manufacturing and facility environment with exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, heat, cold, and changing weather conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and use of hands throughout the workday.
  • Regular lifting of parts, tools, and equipment as needed.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
  • Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
  • Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
