Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Medium and/or Heavy Diesel Technician.
• Completion of diesel/automotive certificate programs or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Previous lead technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform full engine rebuilds and repairs.
• Provide technical service on vehicles and equipment.
• Advise service staff if additional repairs are necessary.

Job Responsibilities for Diesel Technician

• Perform full engine rebuilds and repairs
• Provide technical service on vehicles and equipment, including troubleshooting, electrical, and diagnostic services
• Read repair orders and perform general and detailed repairs of trucks, engines, and components
• Advise service staff if additional repairs are necessary
• Follow safe work practices and procedures, use safety equipment, and seek assistance when needed
• Participate in other projects or initiatives as assigned

Required Skills for Diesel Technician

• Experience with Navistar software and diagnostics; NavCal, SDS, DLB are a plus
• Previous lead technician experience preferred
• Experience with brands such as International, Isuzu, Ford, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, CAT, Allison, Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, Kenworth, or Peterbilt
• Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Medium and/or Heavy Diesel Technician with diagnostic software
• Valid driver’s license
• Full set of personal hand tools
• Completion of diesel/automotive certificate programs or equivalent hands-on experience
• High School Diploma/GED; vocational or technical certification preferred
