THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for an Experienced Construction Inspector

As a Construction Inspector, you will help improve and make a difference in the lives of residents and neighboring communities. You could work on projects like the reconstruction of 83rd Street and 123rd Street, pedestrian and signal improvements along State Line Road, among others.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Inspecting public infrastructure, structures, and systems.
• Inspecting sidewalks, ramps, and driveways, ensuring compliance with standards and plans.
• Reviewing construction plans and shop drawings during design.
• Coordinating erosion control and traffic management.
• Managing materials testing and GIS mapping.
• Assisting with obtaining right-of-way and easements.

Minimum Requirements: Six years of construction and inspection experience, or an Associate’s degree plus four years of related experience.

Certifications and trainings: Must obtain or have certifications like BMPs, Erosion Control, KDOT Inspection, ACI Concrete Testing, IMSA Work Zone, and NHI Pipe Installation within a timeframe set by the Director of Public Works.

Preferred: Experience as a Construction Inspector in a municipality or public works.

Salary Range: $26.30 to $38.13 per hour, DOQ
