Job summary

MGC Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced equipment operator for our New Mexico division in Alamogordo. You will operate dozers, loaders, backhoes, scrapers and related machinery across professional construction sites.

The role requires reading blueprints, working outdoors in all weather, and ensuring equipment is safe and well-maintained. Full-time position with occasional overtime and weekend work may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience operating dozer, loader, backhoe, gannon, scraper, or compactor is required.
• Five (5) plus years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand wheels, levers, and pedals to drive machines and control attachments.
• Grade or redistribute earth, aggregates, or materials for construction of structures.
• Use GPS and laser leveling to regulate elevation and slopes during rough grading.
• Attach equipment accessories and align depth gauge with stakes and guidelines.
• Monitor gauges and indicators to ensure machinery operates correctly.
• Inspect equipment for deficiencies and submit condition reports.
• Read and interpret blueprints, survey markers, and stakes.
• Signal directions and warnings to coworkers.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
