DRT Metal Packaging in Dayton, OH is seeking an experienced Horizontal Milling Machinist to set up, run, and troubleshoot high-precision workpieces on modern HMCs. You will read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and perform in-process inspections to ensure tight tolerances and quality.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, process improvements, and collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams in a high-mix environment. Shift details include 1st shift with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience setting up and operating Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs).
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Experience with fixtures, tooling, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances and maintain high quality standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Responsabilités

• Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs)
• Perform tooling changes, fixture setups, work offset adjustments, and first-piece inspections
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications
• Machine precision components to tight tolerances and quality requirements
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gages, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment
• Adjust tooling and machine offsets to maintain quality and productivity
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues
• Monitor tool life and identify opportunities for process improvements
• Complete production and inspection documentation accurately
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to achieve performance goals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
