Job summary

The Gund Company in Cedar Lake, IN is seeking an Experienced CNC Machine Operator for a full-time second shift. The role features a pay rate of $26+ per hour with a 15% shift premium and a 3:15pm-11:45pm schedule, Mon-Fri.

Work is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with PPE required. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of CNC experience, familiarity with CNC operating procedures, and strong math and measurement skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of combined formal training and experience, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures.
• Broad knowledge of machining techniques.
• Open to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of parts.
• Intermediate math skills and/or aptitudes.
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment.
• Set-up and operate CNC machining centers in multiple cells that include but are not limited to mills, lathes, presses, routers etc.
• Perform advanced setup operations.
• Perform work independently with minimal defects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary Experienced CNC Machine Operator

Setups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as profile and contour milling, boring, recessing, turning, drilling, threading, etc., to the capacity of the machine and control factor. Operates numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill. May check parts for conformance to specifications and run and set up more than one unit simultaneously.

Work Environment

• This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to dust.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
• The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
