Job summary

The Gund Company in St. Louis, MO is seeking a CNC Operator I for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM, Monday–Friday). This full-time role uses lathes, mills, and machining centers to build custom parts, following blueprints and specifications.

You’ll work in a hands-on, team-focused environment that values craftsmanship and continuous improvement, with opportunities to learn multiple CNC machines, perform inspections, and grow into higher-level machining roles.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read blueprints and follow written instructions.
  • Experience operating CNC equipment or similar machining tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, and machining centers).
  • Load materials, secure parts, and execute work orders based on specifications and blueprints.
  • Ensure parts meet quality standards through inspection and measurement.
  • Complete work order documentation accurately.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist with training others.
  • Follow all safety and quality standards while actively contributing ideas for improvement.

CNC Operator I - 2nd Shift

The Gund Company – St. Louis, MO

Schedule: 2:00 PM-10:30 PM Monday–Friday | Full-Time

Pay: $22+ based on experience + 15% Shift Differential

What You’ll Do

What You Bring
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow written instructions
  • Experience operating CNC equipment or similar machining tools
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Basic to intermediate math skills and problem-solving ability
  • Experience using measurement tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to support production
Preferred Experience
  • Prior manufacturing or machining experience
  • Vocational or technical training in machining or fabrication
