Job summary

Always Best Care-Atlanta is seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for on-call coverage and start-of-care duties across Metro Atlanta.

This role requires hands-on care, independence, and the ability to adapt to varying client needs and home environments. You will be part of a team ensuring safe, quality care for diverse clients.

Daily assignments are issued by 7:30 AM; compensation is $17 per hour with PRN scheduling and no guaranteed hours.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification and active CPR/First Aid are required.
• Experience with home-based care and client observation is required.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Metro Atlanta area.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Cover open shifts and last-minute call-outs.
• Assist with new client starts of care and assess home environment.
• Provide hands-on personal care and activities of daily living.
• Safely assist with mobility and transfers, including Hoyer lifts.
• Follow CNA protocols and infection control.
• Report changes in client condition and care needs.
• Complete accurate documentation.
• Communicate with clients, families, and office staff.
• Travel to client homes within service area.
• Adapt to changing assignments while maintaining dependable care.

Job Description

Always Best Care-Atlanta is seeking a highly experienced, dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to assist with open shifts, last-minute call-outs, and new client starts of care throughout Metro Atlanta and surrounding communities.

This position is ideal for a seasoned CNA who is confident providing hands-on care, adapting to different client needs, and working independently in various home environments. The right candidate must be able to recognize when a client's actual care needs or home environment differ from the information initially reported and communicate those concerns appropriately to the office.

Responsibilities

• Cover open shifts, last-minute call-outs, and other urgent staffing needs.
• Assist with new client starts of care and observe the client's care needs and home environment.
• Provide hands‑on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Safely assist with mobility, transfers, and mechanical lifting equipment, including Hoyer lifts.
• Follow proper CNA protocols, infection control practices, and safe caregiving procedures.
• Recognize and report changes in client condition, safety concerns, and differences between reported and observed care needs.
• Check in with clients and caregivers as assigned to support satisfaction and quality of care.
• Communicate client or caregiver concerns to the office when follow-up is needed.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation.
• Communicate professionally with office staff, clients, and families.
• Travel to client homes throughout the assigned service area.
• Adapt to changing assignments while maintaining dependable, professional care.

Requirements

• Current CNA certification.
• Substantial hands‑on caregiving experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Hoyer lifts and other mechanical lifts and transfer equipment.
• Strong knowledge of proper CNA protocols and safe transfer procedures.
• Current, unexpired CPR and First Aid certification.
• Recent, clear TB test result from within the past year.
• If providing a BLS certificate, the certificate must explicitly state that it covers First Aid. BLS alone does not satisfy the CPR and First Aid requirement unless First Aid coverage is indicated.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the service area.
• Strong observation, documentation, and communication skills.
• Dependability, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to pass the required background check.

Compensation & Scheduling

• $17 per hour
• PRN assignments based on client needs, open shifts, and call-outs.
• Daily assignments will be sent no later than 7:30 AM.
